UKI AGILITY INTERNATIONAL US CUPS, CLASSICS, FESTIVALS AND MASTERS

An overview of classes you will find at Cups, Classics and Festivals. The rules below give you an outline of each event. Please note that the definitive rules for each event will be in the premium and these will be the rules that must be complied with.

OVERALL CUP WINNER

  • Each jump height will produce the best scoring dog from the overall results in the Agility Biathlon, Masters Series Heat, Games Challenge & Speedstakes Challenge.
  • To be eligible for the Overall results, all 4 Cup events (Agility Biathlon, Games Challenge, Masters Series & Speedstakes Challenge) must be entered & with all 4 events run for competition.

IN SUMMARY…

The Cup Winner gets an automatic spot in the National Championship Final, automatic entry into the Masters Final at the UKI US Open and an automatic bye into the West Coast Open Stakes Final. Please refer to the individual Cup premium to find out what year the bye will count for the WCO Stakes.


OVERALL CUP RESERVE

  • The 2nd place dog in each jump height from the overall results in the Agility Biathlon, Masters Series Heat, Games Challenge & Speedstakes Challenge will receive an automatic Bye into Round 2 of the UKI National Championship class.
  • To be eligible for the Overall results, all 4 Cup events (Agility Biathlon, Games Challenge, Masters Series & Speedstakes Challenge) must be entered & with all 4 events run for competition.

IN SUMMARY...

The Cup Overall Reserve will receive an automatic Bye into Round 2 of the UKI National Championship class at the UKI US Open.

CUP CLASSES


AGILITY BIATHLON

  • Consists of a Jumping round and an Agility round with the results combined.
  • Either round can be run first. Running order for second round will be in reverse order of first round results.
  • Cumulative scoring; least faults wins with time as tie breaker only, in all aspects of the Biathlon.
  • In the event of a tie for the Agility Biathlon Winner, the scores from the Agility round will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the second course.
  • Eliminations in the first round will still progress to the second round, with E’s running first in the RO for the second round.

IN SUMMARY...

This class consists of a jumping round and an agility round. Results are combined and the least faults wins.


SPEEDSTAKES CHALLENGE

  • Consists of 2 Speedstakes rounds with the results combined.
  • Running order for Round 2 will be in reverse order of Round 1 result.
  • Cumulative scoring; least faults wins with time as the tie breaker only.
  • In the event of a tie for the Speedstakes Challenge, the scores from round 2 will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the round 2 course.
  • Eliminations in Round 1 will still progress to Round 2 with E’s running first in the RO for the 2nd round.

IN SUMMARY…

Get those running shoes on for 2 Speedstakes rounds with the results combined.


GAMES CHALLENGE

  • Consists of a Snooker round and a Gamblers round with the results combined.
  • Running order for Gamblers will run in reverse order of Snooker results.
  • Cumulative scoring; highest number of points wins with time as tie breaker only.
  • In the event of a tie for the Games Challenge, the scores from the Gamblers round will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the Gamblers course.
  • Eliminations (dogs not stopping the timers by going over the finish jump) will score 0 points with SCT as the course time.
  • Eliminations in Snooker will still progress to Gamblers with E’s running random in the RO for the 2nd

IN SUMMARY…

Get your game face on for a round of Snooker and a round of Gamblers! Results from both rounds combined.


MASTERS SERIES (RUNS AT CUPS, CLASSICS AND FESTIVALS)

  • Consists of an Agility round and a Jumping round with results combined.
  • Running order for the 2nd class will be in reverse order of placement of the first round.
  • Cumulative scoring; dog with the lowest score wins.
  • Faults converted into seconds (5 faults = 5 seconds) and time faults treated the same as course faults but converted on a 1:1 ratio. i.e. 2.25 seconds over a standard course time of 40 scores = 44.50
  • 1st & 2nd place overall qualify for the Masters Series Final at the UKI US Open.
  • In addition, Winners in each height of the Agility round and the Jumping round qualify for the Masters Series Final at the UKI US Open (even if an E is earned in the other round).
  • In the event of a tie for the combined results, the result from the Agility round will be the deciding factor. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the second course.
  • Eliminations will result in 100 faults with 60 second course time.
  • Dogs that score double elimination will not be placed.

IN SUMMARY…

All faults are converted to time (e.g., 5F = 5 seconds and so on) over 1 jumping and 1 agility round.


CLASSIC CLASSES


UKI CLASSIC BIATHLON

  • Consists of a Jumping round and an Agility round with the results combined.
  • Either round can be run first. Running order for second round will be in reverse order of first round results.
  • Cumulative scoring; least faults wins with time as tie breaker only, in all aspects of the Biathlon.
  • In the event of a tie for the Agility Biathlon Winner, the scores from the Agility round will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the second course.
  • Eliminations in the first round will still progress to the second round with E’s running first in random order in the RO for the second round.
  • Winners in each height with no eliminations in either round, will receive an automatic Bye into Rd 2 of the UKI National Championships at the UKI US Open.

A Jumping round and an agility round with the results combined.


UKI CLASSIC PENTATHLON

  • Consists of 4 preliminary classes with points allocated for placements in each class that are combined into one result to enable participation to run in the Final.
  • The 4 preliminary classes include: Snooker, Gamblers, Agility & Jumping and are run and scored under UKI Rules & Regulations.
  • The Final consists of a Speedstakes course and is run and scored under normal UKI Rules & Regulations.
  • The tabulation for each of the 4 preliminary classes is based upon the number of dogs entered within each jump height in each event. The winner of the class(i.e. Snooker) will receive the highest points which is equal to the total number entered in that jump height. Example: If 12 dogs are entered in the 22 inch height then the winner will receive 12 points, 2nd place 11, 3rd place 10 and so on.
  • Eliminations (dogs not stopping the timers by going over the finish jump in Gamblers and Snooker) will score 0 points
  • Eliminations in Jumping or Agility will score 0 points
  • A no show in any of the classes or if any of the classes are run for NFC – will result in a loss of eligibility to move onto to the Final, regardless of ranking in the other classes.
  • The top 50% from the 4 preliminary rounds will progress onto the Speedstakes Final.
  • Dogs with 3 or more 0 scoring results in preliminary classes will not progress onto the Final.
  • The bottom 50%, including those that scored three or more zero’s, will move onto the Speedstakes Consolation Run that is scored under normal UKI Rules & Regulations.
  • A tie at the 50% cut off will round up to move all tied dogs into the Final.
  • The running orders for the preliminary classes will be random order.
  • The running orders for the Final will be reverse order of the combined result of the preliminary score after the 4 rounds. If there is a tie for running order placement, the Agility placement followed by the Jumping placement, followed by the Gamblers placement will determine the running order.
  • The running orders for the Consolation run will be in random order and are not strict.
  • The winners of the Speedstakes Final will be given an automatic Bye into the Speedstakes Challenge Final at the UKI US Open and a Bye into the Speedstakes Challenge Final at the UKI West Coast Open, plus an automatic Bye into the Masters Series Final at the UKI US Open.

IN SUMMARY…

Run four rounds to get a place in the coveted Speedstakes final.

FESTIVALS


OVERALL FESTIVAL WINNER

  • Each jump height will produce the best scoring dog from the overall results in the Agility Biathlon and Masters Series Heat.
  • Both the Agility Biathlon and Masters Heat must be entered with dogs running all classes for competition, to be eligible for the Festival Winner result.
  • A no-show or NFC in either class will result in disqualification from that competition, including awards and entry into the Festival’s Overall Winner result.
  • Double Eliminations for each competition will not be placed in that event and will score 0 for the Festival’s Overall Winner tabulation.
  • If a dog obtains a double elimination in both events, they are no longer eligible for the Festival’s Overall tabulation.
  • In the event of a tie for the Festival Overall Winner, the Masters Series Heat placement will be the deciding factor and if necessary, followed by the Biathlon, then Masters Agility class and then the Biathlon Agility Class.
  • Should a dog win the Festival’s Overall Result but had previously obtained this result at another Festival, the result will not move down to the next placing dog.

IN SUMMARY…

The Festival Winner gets a bye into Round 2 of the National Championship Class at the UKI US Open plus an automatic Bye into the West Coast Open Agility Stakes Final. Please refer to the individual Festival premium to find out what year the bye will count for the WCO Stakes.



FESTIVAL CLASSES


AGILITY BIATHLON

  • Consists of a Jumping round and an Agility round with the results combined.
  • Either round can be run first. Running order for second round will be in reverse order of first round results.
  • Cumulative scoring; least faults wins with time as tie breaker only, in all aspects of the Biathlon.
  • In the event of a tie for the Agility Biathlon Winner, the scores from the Agility round will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, the dogs will compete in a run-off on the second course.
  • Eliminations in first round will still progress to second round, with E’s running random in the beginning of the RO for the second round.

IN SUMMARY…

A Jumping Round and an Agility Round with the results combined.


TEAM CHALLENGE

  • Teams consist of any 3 dogs and any 3 handlers from any jump heights (select and regular). A handler cannot have 2 dogs on the same team. A dog can only be on one team.
  • Handlers with multiple dogs may compete in multiple teams provided that one dog is only on one team.
  • Least faults win with time as tie-breaker only, in all aspects of the Team event
  • The six individual results from each dog/handler partnership in the Team Agility class and the Team jumping will be combined with the result from the Team Relay
  • The Team relay final is a 3 dog Speedstakes relay
  • A baton exchange between handlers will take place behind the start and finish jumps.
  • Dogs entered in the team must run in the 2 individual classes. A no-show or NFC in either Team class by a dog will result in disqualification from the Team competition, including awards.
  • Teams that qualify for the final at the US Open may use one substitute of any height (replacement partnership) if a dog or handler is unable to attend the US Open for that year. This substitute can only be used if the dog and/or handler are not entered at the US Open for that year.

IN SUMMARY…

The Festival Winning Team – will receive an automatic Bye into the Team Final at the UKI US Open in Florida.
